Hey hey hey now!!!! I am so very excited that I get to play my very first Lestat's gig with singer/musician extraordinaire Josh Damigo on November 19th Saturday night!!! I hope to see all your beautiful faces.

Fall is my favorite season. When things are getting cooler, leaves are changing to beautiful colors, and my birthday is just around the bend.
I had a busy few months playing music with BLACK GIRLZ ROCK where I got to play bass for V Boseman from HBO's Empire and Yo-Yo the rapper.
There are so many musical collaborations I'm excited for. I've been in the works with playing bass for THE SAXATIONS, SOUL ABLAZE, and not to mention all the fantastic musicians that fill in in that 4th chair on Tonight In San Diego. More collabs coming....love it!!
What I'm most excited about is getting to play acoustic shows. I have one coming up Oct. 29th Saturday at The Company Pub.
I'm always posting pics and random video on INSTAGRAM. Follow me there @djteelynn.
When it was decided that I was going to start a house band for Tonight In San Diego, I thought that I'd brush up and take a bass guitar class. I found this fantastic online class called Scott's Bass Lessons and joined in February.
SBL (as it's called) is a vibrant and supportive bass community online. People are very kind and helpful. On the website are places to post your work, projects, and participate in challenges. I decided to join a challenge where we all had the same backing track (minus the bass) and needed to create/play a bass line to it.
I was surprised that my bass line was noticed and was mentioned on the weekly Academy Show they post online! Check it ---> So cool!!!
I've had the privilege to meet some wonderfully talented film makers in San Diego and I get to DJ their after party! All you aspiring film makers, check out the San Diego Film Consortium.
Tonight In San Diego begins its fourth season in a new home, with new hosts, and a band of its own! The show has partnered with The Historical Spreckels Theatre to use their adjacent stage known as The Raw Space for live tapings. Our new host is San Diego's Funniest Person Contest winner Jesse Egan. The new cohost is local comedian/actor/writer/raconteur Keith Foster!
A band? Yup! Here's our new band for the show...The Mondaze.
Nina Leilani: Keys, Vocals
DJ Teelynn: Bass, Vocals, DJ
Richard Galiguis: Drums
Last year I was asked to DJ for a charity event called Sharon's RIDE.WALK.RUN for Epilepsy. It was a beautiful event and I was lucky they called me back this year. I love spreading the music love to events like these.
Hey 2016, so far so good. I've been loving my new music endeavours this year. Last month I played with HM3 at The Merrow and creatively covered a David Bowie song. Imagine, a jazz fusion band and dj playing that ---- siiiiick.
In two weeks, Feb. 17 I'll be playing with HM3 again at the STUDIO DOOR 7-8pm. $5 entry.
S'ppose to be fuuuun. Come on down.
As promised, I told you all I'd keep you posted on my new musical project. Well, here's the update--->
For our upcoming season on Tonight In San Diego (projected to begin late March), I'll be leading a live house band trio! I'll still DJ on the show, but the band will play a huge part in the episodes as well. The band and I have been rehearsing for a few weeks now and it's really coming together. Good people. Good musicians.
2015 had a lot of DJing for me. I'm tellin ya, it's some hard work having to hustle around for gigs, lug gear, and put on that performance attitude face past midnight for Downtown's gaslamp party-ers.
Turntables and the art of using them as an instrument brings DJing to a different level. I'm so excited that this year I will be playing a couple of shows with HM3 - a jazz fusion band lead by HARLEY MAGSINO - bass, Joshua White - keys, and Charles Weller - drums. See my homepage for details!
Here's the band performing at the Balboa. Dec. 5, 2015.
My root of roots, however, has always been playing and writing music. Sure I've had my tease of writing music for those very brief headline songs on Tonight In San Diego, but I've been hungry for more.
Which brings me to mention yet, another exciting muscial project I'm currently working on this year. HINT: it has to do with performing covers, originals and DJing all rolled into one.
Thank you for all the birthday greetings and wishes. This past year I've met many talented and wonderful individuals, DJed some memorable gigs, started playing more music and have seen my nieces, nephews and godkids mature into some amazing young people.
Life is fast. And while it happens, life can be pressuring when placing timestamps on it and hoping your Life's TO DO list is consistenly being marked off.
But I've had a deep thought that has been lingering in my mind. A mantra amongst the alert to accomplish all I want in life:
